Alex Ansary launched Outside the Box on access television in late 2004 in his hometown of Portland, Oregon. The freedom from editorial control and censorship gave him the flexibility to interview hundreds of well-informed and controversial guests.
The Portland-based media outlet created the space for Alex to share his own views, news, investigations, and spiritual perspectives with his community and later around the world via the internet. Some of the more predominant topics discussed included the 9-11 cover up, the global surveillance society, local investigations into increased military drills within the Portland area, community-based preparations for independent cashless societies, solar flares and its affect on human consciousness, information pointing to a potential staged/managed conflict with China and Russia, and the holographic/spiritual/karmic realities which overshadow events in the physical plane.
In 2007, Alex earned his degree in radio broadcasting from Mount Hood Community College. He brought the show online in a radio format to the Republic Broadcasting Network, We The People Radio Network, and the Oracle Broadcasting Network.
The challenges he faced sent him delving further inward in a journey of self-discovery of his own life path, and beyond identity with any religion, race, political affiliation, nationality, or creed.
From Sept. 2010 to Feb. 2011, Alex helped launch the Portland Preparedness Center, the city's first retail survival preparedness store for two online Washington State based investors. In Sept. 2011, he relocated to Dallas, TX for a year. The move brought the public access TV show to an end after a seven year run from 2004-2011 following severe economic difficulties and home free living, combined with a desire to experience a more simple life with more anonymity someplace new.
Outside the Box continues as a weekly radio show on American Freedom Radio Saturday nights at 8pm Central.
Today, Alex lives off the grid in the high desert surrounded by mountains in the San Luis Valley of south central Colorado where he practices his ability to live without money, conventional electricity, material possessions, the internet, and other pleasures and distractions found within urban life. After years of traveling and exploring, Alex spoke at the Free Your Mind 2 Conference in April 2013.
